Privacy policy

Voixe is built for local dictation, not cloud transcription.

The short version: audio is transcribed on your Mac, no account is required to download or use Voixe, and email is optional for release updates.

Audio stays local

Voixe is designed to process speech on-device using local transcription models. We do not receive your recordings or transcripts.

No account required

You can download and use the Mac app without creating an account, signing into a workspace, or joining a paid plan.

Email is optional

If you enter your email on the website, it is used for Windows access and release notes. It is not required for the Mac download.

What Voixe collects

In the Mac app.

Voixe does not require an account and does not send your dictated audio or generated transcript to Enginecy servers.

  • Microphone audio: captured so Voixe can transcribe speech locally on your Mac.
  • Transcripts: generated locally and pasted into the app you are using.
  • Model downloads: Voixe may connect to model providers, such as Hugging Face, when you download a speech model.
  • Software updates: Voixe may check the public appcast feed at voixe.enginecy.io/appcast.xml for updates.
  • No app account: Voixe does not require a login, hosted workspace, or cloud transcription account.
What the website collects

Only if you choose to share it.

The landing page has an optional email signup for Windows access and release notes. The download button is not gated by email.

Optional email updates

If you submit your email, we store it so we can send product updates, Windows launch notes, and release information. You can ask us to remove it.

Anonymous website analytics

We collect aggregate website events such as page views, download clicks, scroll depth, referrers, and country. We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, session replay, or cross-site tracking.

Apple and security

Is Voixe authorized by Apple?

Is Voixe made by Apple?
No. Voixe is built by Enginecy. It is not an Apple product and is not endorsed by Apple.
Is the Mac app signed and notarized?
Voixe is distributed as a signed and notarized Mac app using Apple Developer ID, so macOS Gatekeeper can verify it as software from an identified developer.
Why does it ask for permissions?
Microphone access captures your speech. Input Monitoring lets Voixe listen for your configured hotkey globally. Accessibility enables pasting text into the app where your cursor is active.
